Course Code: CID-RS
Delivery: Online
Languages: English

Audience:

One of a series of short interactive multimedia courses on component identification. These three short interactive multimedia courses on resistors are for electronic assembly operators and others, who deal with electronic components in their work. You can "mix and match" courses to create a custom curriculum to meet your training needs. Courses are available for individual or company purchase.

Objectives For Resistors 1 - Introduction:

Participants successfully completing the program will be able to:

  • Describe resistors and flow of electric current
  • Identify resistor package types
  • Describe how to distinguish resistors from other components
  • Explain resistor values
  • Decribe tolerance and forms of value marking
  • Explain the different ways to express the numeric value of a resistor

Objectives For Resistors 2 - Colour Codes:

Participants successfully completing the program will be able to:

  • Explain colour codes and numeric values
  • Describe colour bands, placement and meaning
  • Describe precision resistors value and tolerance
  • Describe orientation of resistors on a PCB
  • Explain the impact of incorrect orientation
  • Explain the use of Zero Ohm resistors

Objectives For Resistors 3 - Resistor Types:

Participants successfully completing the program will be able to:

  • Identify power resistors, resistor networks, and variable resistors
  • Explain the impact of power rating
  • Describe the relationship between power and size
  • Identify power rating on numerically marked resistors
  • Describe the marking and orientation of resistor networks
  • Describe the types and uses of variable resistors

Qualification and Certification Testing

LearnTech® certification training incorporates interactive learning checks throughout the instructional sequences. Certification tests are criterion-referenced and module-based with feedback on every response for enhanced learning. Administrative access to dates and scores of tests, certifications, and re-certifications is compliant with ISO quality-standards training requirements.
